All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.
Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputy Helms reports that she was dispatched to a gas station on Mountain Pine Road on July, 9, 2021, to meet with a complainant about death and rape threats that had just been made.
Dep. Helms arrived and made contact with the complainant. She told the deputy that she had just met up with Brian Keith Orrell, 30, of Powell Road in Garland County, at this gas station and he threatened her. He threatened to tie the 4 of these people up…then, gang rape the victim and the victim’s son’s girlfriend (the 2 females). Then, execute her 2 sons with bullets to their heads while the 2 females watched. Then, kill the 2 females. The victim told the deputy that the threats were recorded with a cell phone and she has the recording.
GCSO Criminal Investigator Mowery met with the victim on July 13, 2021, and interviewed her regarding these threats. During the interview, the victim said that she met with Mr. Orrell to talk. She said he became angry and demanded that she “pay on his warrants”. The victim refused. She said that Mr. Orrell placed his hand on a gun. She then went to her vehicle.
She got in her vehicle, grabbed her cell phone and hit the record button. She told Inv. Mowery that she did not see the gun again and she does not believe that he ever pointed it at her. The rest of what she had to say during the interview mirrors what Dep. Helms says that the victim said to her during the initial report.
Inv. Mowery was provided a copy of the recording on the day of the interview. He listened to the recording and can clearly hear Mr. Orrell make the threats that the victim describes. He made the threats numerous times on the recording and even stated his own name on the recording.
Inv. Mowery obtained arrest warrants for Mr. Orrell and entered them into the police computer.
On July 22, 2021, around 10AM, Mr. Orrell came to the Garland County Sheriff’s CID Office. He was arrested on the outstanding warrants and transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing. He is charged with Felony Terroristic Threatening x6 with bond initially set at $150,000. While at the jail, deputies served Mr. Orrell with 3 Failure To Appear Arrest Warrants with an additional $3,000 bond.
