All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.
Hot Springs Police Officer Green reports that officers were dispatched to the area of Cooper Street for the call of gunfire from a vehicle. A witness to the gunfire was following the suspect vehicle as it departed the scene.
911 Dispatchers kept the complainant on the phone and updated responding officers with the location of the suspect. The suspect vehicle traveled East until it made it’s way to Prospect Avenue, Exchange Street, Central Avenue, Whittington Avenue, Walnut Street to Robin Street where the blue Nissan Sentra suspect vehicle stopped.
Officers caught up to the suspect vehicle as it made it to Walnut Street. Officers saw Lionel McTwon Tidwell, 25, of Robin Street in Hot Springs, exit the vehicle and run behind houses. Off. Green found Mr. Tidwell and arrested him. During a search of the suspect, Off. Green located 5.7 grams of marijuana.
Officers and K-9 “Ork” found $2,293.68 in cash strewn on the ground and a Glock 22 pistol between the suspect vehicle and where the suspect was located. Another baggie of marijuana (2.0 grams) was also located inside the suspect car.
Mr. Tidwell is a convicted felon. Felons are prohibited from possessing firearms in Arkansas.
Mr. Tidwell was transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing. He is charged with Felony Terroristic Act, Felony Possession Of Firearms By Certain Persons, Possession Of A Controlled Substance and Fleeing with bond set at $31,500.
