Hot Springs Police Officer Russell reports that he was dispatched to a parking lot on Airport Road last week in reference to a welfare check.

Off. Russell arrived and walked up to the occupied vehicle that fit the description of what he was looking for.  He could see a white male in the driver seat and a capped syringe on the center console.  He attempted to get the man’s attention by tapping on the window, but that didn’t work.  Off. Russell opened the unlocked door and touched the man’s shoulder and the man became alert.  He had the man step out of the vehicle.

HSPD Officer Cheatham arrived to assist.  The man was asked for his ID card.  He replied that it was in the center console of the vehicle.  Officers asked if they could get the ID and the man said “yes”.  Off. Cheatham opened the driver’s door and saw an empty syringe on the center console.  He opened the center console to get the ID card and immediately saw a small, clear, glass container with .01 gram of cocaine in it.  A spoon with residue was also found.

The man, Marko Ivandic, 30, of Kaufman Road in Hot Springs, was arrested and transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing.  He is charged with Felony Possession Of A Controlled Substance.
