Arkansas State Troopers in the area of Magnet Cove Friday Afternoon were advised of a vehicle traveling from Hot Spring County to Garland County that was occupied by suspects that had just allegedly committed a residential burglary in Hot Spring County.
ASP Trooper Sawyer spotted the alleged suspect vehicle in the area of Couchwood Road on Highway 270 and got behind it. The suspect vehicle allegedly fled. It wasn’t long before Trp. Sawyer used the PIT (Pursuit Intervention Technique) on the fleeing vehicle.
The move was successful in taking the stolen Ford F-150 truck of the highway just east of Akers Road. The truck went out of control, exited the right side of the pavement, struck several things including small poles, posts, a heavy gate, driveway culvert, bushes and a tree. The truck came to final rest in the front yard of a residence. As soon as the truck stopped moving, the suspects allegedly attempted to flee on foot, but were quickly handcuffed.
Several items allegedly taken from the burglary victim’s residence (including guns) were allegedly located in and recovered from the truck.
1 of the suspects was transported to the hospital by LifeNet Ambulance and later arrested. The other 2 suspects were arrested at the scene and transported to the Hot Spring County Detention Center for processing.
Actual charges for the 3 suspects are unknown.
