Alleged: Attempted Murder Suspect Caught With Dope; Felony Arrest – HOT SPRINGS

All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.

Hot Springs Police Officer Murray reports that HSPD Officers responded to the Valero Station at the Intersection of Grand Avenue at Central Avenue last night around 9PM in reference to locating  wanted suspect, Evan Drake Johnson, 21, of Gerrard Terrace in Garland County.  Mr. Johnson was wanted for 2 counts of Attempted 1st Degree Murder stemming from gunfire on Park Avenue on April 13, 2020.

Officers arrived quickly and entered the store.  Off Murray went to the back cooler area and located the wanted suspect.  The suspect was talking with another man.  Both men were handcuffed.

HSPD Special Investigation Detectives found a digital scale and a small baggie containing .7 gram of meth between where the 2 men were found.  Also found loose marijuana near the doorway.

Both Suspects were arrested.  The other suspect was transported to the HSPD Detective Office for questioning.  Mr. Johnson was arrested and the report does not mention him again.

Mr. Johnson is charged with Felony Theft By Receiving, Felony Possession Of A Controlled Substance, Felony Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession Of A Controlled Substance with a bond amount totaling $8,500.

The other suspect transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing.  He is charged with Felony Possession Of A Controlled Substance, Possession Of A Controlled Substance and Felony Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia with a bond amount totaling $6,000.
