Alleged: Armed Probationer Tells Cop The License Plate Is Stolen; Felony Arrest – GARLAND COUNTY

All suspects are presumed innocent until determined guilty in court.

Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol Deputy Cogburn was on patrol at the Shell Station on Highway 7 North when he allegedly found a black Ford Focus with an expired license plate.

He made contact with the driver, Harley Nicole Winfrey, 27, of Deatherage Road in Benton.  Ms. Winfrey allegedly told the deputy that she knew the tags were expired, it was a fictitious license plate, she is on felony probation for dope possession out of Saline County and that there was a gun in the car.  This information was allegedly verified at the scene.

The deputy ran the license plate through the police computer and learned that the plate had been stolen out of Little Rock.  Probationer Winfrey was arrested and transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing.

Probationer Harley Nicole Winfrey, 27, of Deatherage Road in Benton – allegedly caught with stolen property and a gun.

She is charged with Felony Possession Of Firearm By Certain Persons and Theft By Receiving with a bond amount totaling $3,500.
