Hot Springs Police Officer Larkin reports that that he was dispatched to West Grand Avenue on September 3, 2020, around 9AM to meet the victim of a battery complaint that took place on Potter Street earlier in the day.
Off. Larkin arrived and met with the victim, who lives on Potter Street. The victim said that her boyfriend, Gavin Ramon Henry, 37, of Grove Street in Hot Springs, and she have been dating for about a year and that he has become abusive lately.
She said that Mr. Henry arrived at her residence around 2AM, entered without permission and refused to leave. The 2 had a verbal altercation. Then around 4AM, she took a shower and got her kids ready for the day. She got out of the shower and told Mr. Henry that she had to get the kids to school and head for work.
Mr. Henry grabbed her arm and then hit her in the face. Officers documented seeing scratches on her arm and face.
Officers arrived at the Potter Street address to remove Mr. Henry, as requested by the victim. As officers were parking and preparing to make contact with the suspect inside the residence, they watched him get into a maroon Chevrolet Traverse and leave the area. Officer Larkin went after the suspect vehicle with lights and siren. The suspect fled and refused to stop. The pursuit was terminated by Off. Larkin due to weather/road/safety reasons in the area of Cypress Street/Estelle Street.
An arrest warrant for Mr. Henry was obtained and entered into the police computer.
The Hot Springs Police SWAT Team was activated and responded to Park Avenue based on a tip that Mr. Henry was in the area on December 14, 2020 around 3PM. Mr. Henry was found and arrested around 6PM at a motel on Park Avenue. Mr. Henry was the subject of several arrest warrants this day, including 1 warrant charging him with shooting a person.
Mr. Henry was ultimately transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing. He is charged with Battery, Unauthorized Use Of A Motor Vehicle and Fleeing and was initially being held without bond.
