All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
On 7/17/2016, Garland County Sheriff’s Deputy Delahunt responded to the 1500 Block of Pearcy Road in reference to a person beating on residence doors. The caller stated to dispatchers that the subject beating on the door had left the area prior to Dep. Delahunt’s arrival and that they had heard 1 to 2 shots being fired.
Deputy Delahunt arrived in the area and was informed by dispatchers that the suspect was now at a different address a few doors down the street. The suspect was allegedly beating on their door as well. Deputy Delahunt went a few doors down and saw the suspect identified as Tanner Root, 21, of Hot Springs, wearing only swimming trunks, standing in the yard.
Dep. Delahunt made contact with Mr. Root and could smell a strong odor of intoxicants coming from his breath and his person. Deputy Delahunt also located a firearm on the front porch of the residence.
Mr. Root allegedly told deputies that he had traveled to the residence to speak with the resident about a situation.
Mr. Root was placed into custody and transported to the Garland County
He is charged with Carrying Certain Prohibited Weapons and Public Intoxication.
His bond is set at $1,500.00.
