Hot Springs Police Officer Larkin reports the following:
On 08/08/19 at approximately 0230 hours I, Off. Larkin 145, conducted a traffic stop on a Gold Chevrolet passenger car displaying fictitious license plate. Upon contact with the driver, later identified as Magdelen Desonier, I asked for driver’s license and insurance. Desonier stated that her driver’s license was suspended and she had no insurance for the vehicle.
Desonier was run through ACIC it was learned that she was a parolee absconder with a search waiver on file.
I told Desonier to exit the vehicle and stand by the trunk. I asked Desonier if there was anything in the vehicle that she wasn’t supposed to have and she stated that there was a meth pipe in her purse.
A search was conducted of her person and her car and a small glass pipe with white residue suspected to be methamphetamine on the inside was found in Desonier’s purse. Desonier was handcuffed (checked for fit and double locked) and transported to the Garland County Detention Center for processing.
At the jail Desonier was read a HSPD Statement of Rights Form and she signed that she understood her rights. Desonier admitted several times at the jail as well as at the traffic stop that the pipe that was found was used for methamphetamine.
Desonier was charged with Drug Paraphernalia as well as a traffic citation#378831 for No proof of liability insurance, fictitious tags, and driving on suspended driver’s license with a bond amount totaling $2,500.
