On 7/28/2016, Garland County Deputy Sheriff Lane was dispatched to the 100 Block of Windamere Terrace in reference to an unconscious individual.
Dep. Lane arrived on the scene and made contact with the complainant who stated that his caregiver was laying on the garage floor, passed out and would not respond. Dep. Lane went inside of the garage, where he saw a male, identified as Bryan Reed, 51, of Hot Springs, lying on the floor not moving. By Mr. Reed’s leg, the deputy allegedly saw a glass pipe commonly used for smoking marijuana. Deputy Lane attempted to wake Mr. Reed, and after countless attempts, Mr. Reed came to. LifeNet was dispatched to this location to medically check Mr. Reed. He checked out fine and refused to go to the hospital.
Mr. Reed allegedly would not follow the directions given to him and became agitated. Deputy Lane placed Mr. Reed under arrest for the drug paraphernalia. During his pat down the deputy allegedly located a silver canister with less than .3 grams of a green leafy substance in his left pant’s pocket.
Mr. Reed was arrested and transported to the Garland County Detention Center.
He is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Both are Class A Misdemeanors.
His bond is set at $2,000.00.
