Hot Springs Police Officer Stockwell investigated a 5 vehicle rollover crash at the Central Avenue/Grand Avenue Intersection last night.
The HSPD Crash Report says that the white truck was southbound on Central Avenue. The truck was stopped at the red light. The driver believed that he had the green light due to the actions of another vehicle at the intersection. The truck accelerated south through the intersection and directly into the path of an Eastbound vehicle that collided with the truck. The force of the collision made the truck overturn. Before the truck came too final rest on it’s driver’s side, it struck 2 northbound vehicles sitting at the Northbound Central Avenue stop light. 1 of those vehicles was pushed backwards striking the 5th vehicle, which was in line at the Northbound Central Avenue red light.
Hot Springs Fire & Rescue Troops arrived quickly and assisted as necessary.
LifeNet dispatched at least 1 Ambulance Crew and the EMS Shift Supervisor. To the best of my knowledge, not one was transported by ambulance.
Holcomb’s Transport & Recovery took charge of and removed the white truck from the scene.
Traffic flow was interrupted for at least an hour.
