3 Vehicle, Entrapment, Injury Crash On I-30 – HOT SPRING COUNTY

Arkansas State Police Corporal Owens investigated a 3 vehicle entrapment, injury crash last week on I-30 at the 97 Exit.   At least 3 vehicles were involved in this crash.

Evidence at the scene indicated that a sedan, a pick-up truck, an 18-wheeler a guard rail and a tree were all involved in this eastbound crash.  The sedan sustained severe front end damage as well as damage all over the vehicle.  The sedan came to final rest in the slow lane.  The pick-up truck sustained heavy front end damage from striking the tree head on as well as other possible damage.  The pick-up truck came to final rest against the tree at the tree line.  The 18-wheeler showed moderate damage on the driver’s side near the fuel tank.  The 18-wheeler came to a controlled stop on the shoulder.

The Hot Spring County Sheriff’s Patrol and Malvern Police assisted as needed.

Malvern Fire & Rescue Troops arrived quickly.  They helped removed patients from the wreckage and assisted with medical care.

LifeNet dispatched at least 2 Ambulance Crews to the scene.  At least 1 person was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

Young’s Towing & Recovery took charge of a removed at least 1 of the vehicles from the scene.

Traffic flow was interrupted for at least an hour and 20 minutes.
