The Garland County Sheriff’s Patrol investigated an 18-wheeler vs. utility pole crash yesterday morning on Mid America Boulevard.

Evidence at the scene suggested that the 18-wheeler struck the utility pole/powerlines and knocked the transformer, that was mounted at the top of the pole, to the ground…where is caught fire.

Piney Fire Troops arrived quickly and put the fire out.

No injuries were reported.

Power was out for some Entergy Customers in this area for a short period.

Traffic flow was interrupted for at least 2 hours.
